White Sox End Season with 4th place finish in Minor League Classic

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A lost the lead late in a 13-7 defeat to RCLL Orioles on Thursday in the 3rd Place game of the Minor League Classic.

The White Sox opened up an early lead in the first inning when Desmond H grounded out, scoring one run which led to a 5-run first inning.

After RCLL Orioles scored two runs in the top of the second, the White Sox answered with two of their own when Justin B singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs and giving the Sox a 7-4 lead.  The White Sox were unable to get a run the rest of the way and fell 13-7.

Ollie S started the game for the team and went two-thirds of an inning, allowing two runs on zero hits and walking one. Justin and Desmond entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and two-thirds innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

The White Sox collected four hits and Isaac led the team with with two hits in three at bats. Ethan S led the team in stolen bases with two.

The GVLL White Sox end the season with an overall 13-8-1 record on the season.  They were the Golden Valley Regular Season Champions, finished 2nd place in the Golden Valley Tournament, and wrapped the season with a 4th place  finish (out of 25 teams) in the Minor League Classic.

The White Sox fall short despite season high hit total

Golden Valley LL White Sox fell to PNHLL Cubs 14-13 on Tuesday in the Minor-A Semifinals.  The White Sox outhit the Cubs 16-2, but ran out of pitching late in the game.  OllieJustin BGibPJReggie H, and Isaac each collected multiple hits for the team with Justin and Ollie leading the team with three. 

Ollie S drove in seven runners in the loss.including a double in the first, a single in the third, and a grand slam in the fourth.

The White Sox  got things moving in the first inning, when Isaac singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs and the Sox were on their way to a 5-0 lead.  The White Sox  put up five runs in the fourth inning as well to take a 12-7 lead. The batters contributing to the big inning included James and Ollie, all driving in runs in the frame.

Seven pitchers pitched for the White Sox. Desmond led things off giving up two runs off of a hit and two walks. PJ went two-and-a-third inning giving up three runs, striking out 5, and walking 9.

White Sox Make it to Final Four of Minor A Classic with win over Hopkins

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A was victorious over Hopkins Glen Lake Optimists, 8-4.  The White Sox fired up the offense in the first inning, when Desmond singled with two outs on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.  The Sox notched three more runs in the second inning as the big bats were led by PJ and Desmond, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Reggie dominated on the pitcher's mound and surrendered only two runs on five hits over four innings, striking out nine and walking only one. PJ pitched two-thirds of an inning giving up one hit, one walk, and striking out two.  Justin gave up one run in one inning of work, walking four and striking out two.  Isaac closed the door in the bottom of the sixth as he struck out the only batter he faced to end the game.

PJ led the team with two hits in three at bats. Desmond had a team high 3 RBI in the game.  The team had eight hits overall and Isaac, Ollie, and Waldo each score two runs.

 The White Sox move on to the semi-final round of the Minor A Classic and will play Tuesday night, 8pm at West Metro Field at the Crystal Little League Ballfields.

White Sox Bats Come alive in Victory Over PNHLL Mariners

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A ran off with the lead late in the game in a 14-8 victory over the Plymouth-New Hope Mariners on Saturday. The game was tied at six with the White Sox batting in the top of the fourth when Justin B singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

In the first inning, the Sox got their offense started when Isaac singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. The White Sox notched five runs in the third inning with several batters contributing to the big inning including a monster triple by Ollie, and hits by SebaTheo, and a double by PJ which all helped get runs across the plate. The team took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. 

The White Sox were boosted by Seba C who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Seba singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth. The White Sox totaled 15 hits in the game. 

Seba got the start for White Sox and the ace allowed three hits and six runs over two innings, striking out two. Theo pitched an inning and two thirds striking out two and only giving up one run.  PJ closed the game out with one-and-one-third inning, striking out three and only giving up one run.

The White Sox advance in the tournament to the quarterfinals where they will meet the Hopkins Glen Lake Optimists at the Crystal Little League Fields.  Game time is 5:45pm at the Minor-A Field.

White Sox drop second game of pool play in Minor A Classic

Golden Valley LL White Sox fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-3 loss to RCLL Orioles on Friday.  The Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A struggled to contain the high-powered offense of RCLL Orioles, giving up 12 runs.

The White Sox notched three runs in the fourth inning as Theo and PJ each drove in runs during the inning.

The White Sox racked up seven hits on the day. Seba and James A each collected two hits for the team.

Justin B was on the mound for the White Sox lasted one inning, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out three. Theo pitched one inning giving up one run and striking out one.  Isaac struck out two and gave up 2 runs off of 2 hits and 2 walks.  Reggie gave up two runs off 3 hits and 2 walks.  PJ cleaned up the end of the fourth getting a fly ball put out off of two pitches.

Despite the loss, the White Sox head into the Gold Bracket and will face the PNHLL Mariners Saturday (25th) at noon in the first round of the single-elimination bracket.

Four Pitchers Combine to help White Sox Shutout Blaine Blue Rocks

The White Sox defeated BALL Blue Rocks 15-0 on Wednesday in the White Sox's first game of the Minor A Classic in Robbinsdale.  Four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Seba started the game and struck out three and walked one.  Theo threw a scoreless second inning giving up a hit, a walk, and striking out three.  Justin gave up a walk and also struck out three in one inning of work, and JJ pitched a 1-2-3 inning, striking out all three batters to close out the game.

The White Sox  offense was also fired up in the first inning, when Gib grounded out, scoring one run.  PJ's hit scored two more and Desmond drove in a run to give the Sox an early 4-0 lead.

The offense continued as they scored two runs in the second, four in the third, and notched five runs in the fourth inning. Batters contributing to the big inning included IsaacPJDesmond H, and Reggie H, all driving in runs in the final frame.

Overall, the team racked up 15 hits.  SebaPJTheoDesmond, and Isaac each managed two hits to lead the team.

The White Sox have their next pool play game this Friday at 6pm at Lakeview Terrace Field.  They will face the Robbinsdale-Crystal Orioles.

White Sox rally again, but fall short to Orioles in GVLL Tournament Championship

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A's effort to come back from down six runs in the third inning came up just short with bases loading in the bottom of the fifth, as they fell 8-6 to GVLL Orioles on Friday. 

The team collected five hits and GVLL Orioles had four in the high-scoring affair.  JustinSebaPJ FReggie H, and Desmond each collected one hit for the team. 

Seba started the game for the White Sox and surrendered five runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Isaac M finished the game two strong innings of work allowing one run on two hits, two walks, and two strikeouts.

After falling behind 7-2, the White Sox scored four runs in the fourth inning. JJ CJustin, and Desmond powered the big inning with RBIs.

The White Sox finish as runner-ups in the Golden Valley tournament and will start play in the Minor A Classic on Monday against the Robbinsdale-Crystal Orioles at 6pm at Lakeview Terrace Park (South Field).

White Sox Advance to Golden Valley Tournament Championship with Dramatic Walk-off Win

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A walk-off the game in dramatic fashion,  defeating the GVLL Rays 12-11 on Wednesday.  Desmond H scored from third on an overthrow to plate the winning run capping two separate comebacks for the Sox.

GVLL Rays got things started in the first inning when GVLL Rays scored two runs on a passed ball.  The White Sox were able to scratch back into the game to tie it 2-2 before the Rays put up 5 runs in the third. 

The White Sox would respond with 5 runs of their own, but the Rays scored 4 in the top of the fourth with their fifth run being stranded on base thanks to an amazing back-handed play and throw by SS Seba and a great pick at 1B by PJ F.

PJ F got the start for the White Sox and the fireballer allowed five hits and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.

#10 led things off on the mound for GVLL Rays. The bulldog lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and four runs while striking out eight.

Desmond H led the team with two hits in two at bats including his game winning score.  Theo and Seba had the teams two other hits.

The White Sox advance to the Golden Valley Tournament Championship this Friday at 6pm against the Orioles.  The game will take place on Isaacson Field #1.

White Sox Wrap up Regular Season Title with Win over Rays

The Golden Valley LL White Sox grabbed an early lead on its way to a 12-6 victory over GVLL Rays on Monday. The White Sox got the scoring started early on a single by Seba, a walk by James A, and a single by Isaac M in the first inning.  The team followed up a 5-run 1st with a 5-run third inning thanks to a walk by Ethan S, a single by Seba, and a fielder's choice by Theo M that scored a run.  Seba led the team with two hits in two at bats. 

Isaac got the start for the Sox and surrendered three runs on two hits over two innings, striking out five.  PJ pitched an inning of scoreless relief while striking out three and giving up only one baserunner.   Seba pitched two-thirds of an inning, striking out one, walking four and giving up two runs and Reggie pitched the other third of an inning to get out of the inning.  Ollie closed out the game pitching one inning and giving up only one run off a hit, three walks, and two strikeouts. 

The White Sox wrapped up the regular season 9-4-1 as the regular season champions and will head into the Golden Valley playoffs as the #1 seed on Wednesday night.

White Sox Can't Catch Up To Orioles and fall 3-14

The White Sox fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-3 loss to the GVLL Orioles on Wednesday. GVLL Orioles took the lead on a triple in the first inning and didn't look back scoring 9 runs in the second and third innings.

PJ F toed the rubber for the White Sox and surrendered five runs on four hits over two innings, striking out six and walking three. Isaac M threw an inning-and-a-third giving up two and striking out one. Desmond H gave up 5 runs and struck out one, Theo M gave up two runs and struck out one, and Justin B cleaned up the end of the game getting the final out on two pitches.  JustinJames ASebastian CPJ, and Ethan S each collected one hit to lead the team.

The White Sox fall to 8-4-1 and will play their final regular season game next Monday against the Rays.

White Sox shine on both sides of the field with win over Orioles

Isaac M wasted no opportunities at the plate on Tuesday, driving in four on two hits to lead the White Sox  past the GVLL Orioles 14-4 on Tuesday. Isaac drove in runs on a single in the first and a single in the fourth.

The White Sox  one-hit the Orioles as Sebastian C got the start for the team and surrendered two runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out four.  Justin pitched an inning in relief shutting out the Orioles with three strikeouts. Ollie gave up two runs off of one hit and Reggie pitched 1-and-a-third inning giving up no runs and striking out one using only nine pitches.

An early lead helped propel the White Sox to victory.  They scored on a walk by Ethan S, a single by Isaac, and a walk by Justin B in the first inning.

The White Sox tallied 13 hits on the day. Theo MIsaac, and Gib J each also managed multiple hits for the team and Theo went 3-for-3 at the plate. 

The Sox improve to 8-3-1 on the season and with face the Orioles again on Wednesday at Isaacson Park.

White Sox Hold Off Cubs For Victory

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A got out to a six-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 16-14 victory over the GVLL Cubs on Friday. 

The White Sox  were down 0-3 after the top of the first, but opened up scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Ollie S singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.   The White Sox would end up scoring five in the inning to take the lead.

The Sox took the lead for good with five more runs in the second inning. James A drew a walk, scoring one run and Isaac drew a walk, scoring one run.

After GVLL Cubs scored two runs in the top of the fourth to make it 14-10, the White Sox answered with two of their own to put the game out of reach heading into the last inning. Isaac M singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and PJ F doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The White Sox  scattered 13 hits in the game. PJIsaac, and Sebastian C all managed multiple hits for the team. PJ went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits. 

PJ started the game on the mound giving up three runs and getting a strikeout.  Theo pitched 1.2 innings giving up twos runs and striking out four.  Reggie went 1 inning in relief giving up three runs, and Isaac M also went one inning giving up two runs and striking out one.  James A and Ethan finished the game as James  gave up four runs and struck out one.  Ethan recorded the final out of the game.

The White Sox  improve to 7-3-1 as they prepare to face the Orioles next Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

White Sox Get out of 1-5 hole to take victory over Orioles

The Golden Valley LL White Sox defeated the GVLL Orioles 15-11 on Monday. The game was tied at ten with the White Sox batting in the top of the fifth when Ollie S singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.  The White Sox added four more runs that inning and shut the Orioles down in the bottom half.

PJ F earned the win for the White Sox. He went two innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out five and walking zero. Reggie H threw one shutout inning in relief before giving up 5 off of seven hits in his second inning.

The White Sox collected 11 hits and the Orioles had 12 in the high-scoring affair. PJSebastianTheo, and Gib each collected two hits to lead the Sox.

The White Sox (6-3-1) and Orioles face off again on Wednesday before the Memorial Day break.

Rays rally late to knock out sox

The Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A got things started in the first inning when Ollie S grounded out, scoring one run and added three more in the bottom of the second.  The defense held the Rays scoreless through two innints, but the Rays offense exploded late as they score all 13 of their runs in the final three frames.

Desmond H toed the rubber for the Sox and went one inning, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking zero. Justin B pitched a perfect second inning striking out three and only giving up one hit. 

Sebastian went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.  JustinJames, and Theo had the other three hits for the team. 

The White Sox fall to 5-3-1 on the season and will face the Orioles next week on Monday and Wednesday to wrap up play prior to the Memorial Day break.

White sox top cubs in defensive battle

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A defeated the Cubs in a game that saw several terrific defensive plays.  The difference was the White Sox's five runs in the third inning.  PJ F doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Ollie S singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, the White Sox scored on a stolen base during Gib J's at bat. Then Gib singled , driving in one, and Theo M singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

PJ toed the rubber for Sox and lasted two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four.

The White Sox scattered 12 hits in the game. Isaac MGib, and Theo each collected multiple hits for the team.

The win evened the season series with the Cubs (1-1-1), and the White Sox improve to 5-2-1 heading into Saturday's matchup with the Rays.

WHITE SOX COMEBACK FROM 8-RUN DEFICIT TO TIE CUBS

The Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A  made a dramatic comeback and to force a tie against the GVLL Cubs on Monday.

The White Sox racked up ten hits in the game. PJ and Desmond each managed two hits to lead the team. 

The Cubs scored five runs in each of the first two inning, taking a 10-4 lead going into the third inning.  They added two more in the top of the third, but Theo was able to strand runners on base striking out two in one inning of work.

Down 12-4, the White Sox scored four in their half of the third and Isaac shut down the Cubs in the top of the fourth giving up only one hit and one walk and striking out one to give the Sox a chance to win trailing 12-8 going into the final at-bat. 

After Ethan walked, the White Sox strung together hits by Sebastian, Justin, and PJ which led to the tying run scoring.  The Cubs were able to get out of the game with a strikeout on the last play, and the game ended in a 12-12 tie.

Both teams will be at it again on Wednesday as the White Sox move to 4-2-1 on the season.

White Sox Drop Game after Cub Comeback

Saturday's game against GVLL Cubs was a heartbreaker for Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A, as they lost the lead late in a 10-8 defeat. The game was tied at eight with GVLL Cubs batting in the top of the sixth when the Cubs doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The White Sox fired up the offense in the first inning. Reggie H drove in one when he singled. The Sox  brought across five runs in the first, but were held scoreless in four of the last five innings.  The team had opportunities as it collected nine hits throughout the game, and the Cubs also had nine in the high-scoring affair. IsaacSebastian, and Desmond each collected two hits to lead the team.

Sebastian C was on the hill for the White Sox. The hurler allowed one hit and two runs over two innings, striking out three. PJ FIsaac M, and Desmond H each contributed in relief for team.  Isaac M pitched a clean inning giving up no runs, walking one, and striking out one.  PJ F pitched two innings giving up three runs, walking three, and striking out four. Desmond H closed out the game and gave up five runs despite a 60% strike rate.  The Cubs had six of their nine hits in that final inning.

The White Sox drop to 4-2 on the season and will get play the Cubs both Monday and Wednesday this week at Isaacson Park.

White Sox Victorious After Challenging Back-And-Forth Game Against Cardinals

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A and the GVLL Cardinals went head-to-head in an exciting back-and-forth game that saw the White Sox coming away with a 13-12 victory.

The Sox captured the lead in the first inning. JJ C drew a walk, scoring one run.  

The White Sox  tallied four runs in the third inning. The offense in the inning was led by Desmond HGib J, and Reggie H, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

The game was tied at ten with the Sox batting in the bottom of the fourth when James A singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.  The White Sox added two more runs to take a 13-10 lead heading into the fifth inning.  The Cardinals would score two runs in the top of the fifth inning, but PJ F came in to close the door in relief, striking out the final batter.

Theo M got the start for the team giving up four runs on two hits over one and one-third innings, striking out three.  Reggie H pitched two innings and gave up six runs on five hits.  He struck out two and walked four.  Justin B struck out two and walked three while giving up two runs in two-thirds of an inning.

The White Sox move to 4-1 on the season and take on the Cubs at Isaacson Park on Saturday, May 14th in the start of a three game series against the Cubs.

White Sox Grab Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat GVLL Rays

Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A snagged a late lead and defeated GVLL Rays 12-10 on Monday. The game was tied at eight with the White Sox batting in the top of the fifth when Justin B drew a walk, scoring one run.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A collected two hits and GVLL Rays had eight. Gib J and Isaac M each had one hit for the team.

Reggie H led things off on the hill for the Sox. The pitcher surrendered five runs on six hits over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two and walking zero.

The White Sox continue their 4-game week with the Orioles on Wednesday, the Cardinals on Friday, and the Cubs on Saturday.

White Sox Defeat Cardinals In High-Scoring Game, 16-10

Both the  Golden Valley LL White Sox Minor A and GVLL Cardinals had their offenses going on Saturday, but the White Sox eventually prevailed 16-10.

The White Sox opened up an early lead in the first inning when Justin B tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.  After the Cardinals scored one run in the top of the second, the Sox answered with one of their own taking a 6-4 lead.

The White Sox took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Sebastian C drew a walk, scoring one run, James A singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, and the team scored two more runs on a Cardinal overthrow.

The White Sox put up five runs in the fourth inning to wrap up the scoring.  The big inning was fueled by walks from Gib J and Sebastian, a single by James, and a double by Desmond H.

Desmond was on the hill for the White Sox and lasted one inning, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out one.  Sebastian threw two innings and gave up four runs and struck out four.  Ollie struck out two and gave up two over one inning. James led the team with three hits in three at bats.  The Cardinals move on to 1-1 on the season and take on the Rays next Monday.
