2026 Pitching Clinics

2026 GVLL Pitching Clinics

GVLL will be conducting a series of clinics focused on developing foundational pitching skills. These clinics will be for 9-12yo players only (based on the 2026 Little League age chart found here). Instruction will be provided by Brian Swan as well as experienced GVLL coaches/managers. Each age group consists of a series of 5 1-hour sessions, Tuesday evenings starting March 3 and ending March 31, 2026. All clinics will be held at Sandburg Middle School.

9-10yo players from 6:30-7:20pm.

11-12yo players from 7:30-8:20pm.

Players should bring their gloves, wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for an indoor basketball court (no cleats allowed). Players do not need to bring bats or helmets.

Parents, we can use your help catching! If you're comfortable doing so, please bring your own glove and you can catch heaters from our young aces-in-training.

Because of space constraints and to ensure adequate individual coaching attention, each section is strictly limited to 12 participants, allocated on a first come/first served basis. A waitlist will be available if more than 12 registrations are received for a given section.

2026 Baseball School Registration

2026 GVLL Baseball School

GVLL Baseball School is a 4-session clinic focusing on fundamental baseball skills that will lay the foundation for your player's development during the upcoming 2026 baseball season. The clinics will be held at the New Hope Community Gym (attached to Robbinsdale Cooper High School) on the following dates:

  • Sunday, Feb. 15
  • Sunday, Feb. 22
  • Sunday, Mar. 1
  • Sunday, Mar 8

Baseball school sessions are divided strictly by player age as determined by the 2026 Little League® Age Chart. The registration form will automatically check that you have selected the correct age group based on each player's date of birth. In order to ensure that every player receives adequate coaching, there are a limited number of spots available so register early to secure your player's spot! Age groups, session times, attendance limits and price are as follows:

  • 5-6yo - 1:00-1:45PM, (30 players max), $50
  • 7-8yo - 2:15-3:15PM, (30 players max), $65
  • 9-10yo - 3:45-5:00PM, (40 players max), $80
  • 11-12yo - 5:30-6:45PM, (40 players max), $80

Please note: Registering for baseball school does NOT automatically register you for the regular season. Regular season registration will open January 1, 2026.

Coach Brian Swan of the Positive Coaching Alliance, will once again be leading baseball school and will be assisted by experienced GVLL managers and coaches. We are always looking for volunteer help during baseball school. If you're interested, there will be a place to indicate interest during the registration process.

GVLL baseball school is open to anyone and everyone between the ages of 5-12, regardless of having any prior experience with GVLL. While the older age groups tend to fill up quickly, the youngest group, in particular, does not typically reach capacity. If you know anyone in that age range who may want to give baseball a try this year (younger siblings, friends, neighbors, schoolmates, etc.), please refer them to this page and encourage them to register!

All player ages are according to the official Little League Baseball Age Chart found here. All players Little League Baseball Age 7 and above are required to attend PED.
Please have your player bring their glove, helmet and bat. They should wear tennis shoes (no cleats). There will be loaner gear available for anyone who doesn't have their own.

Divisional Overview:

Registration is done by player age as defined by the official Little League Age Chart (note that in many cases a player's "baseball age" will be different than their actual chronological age). All players baseball age 5 and 6 are assigned to Rookie League by default. Players baseball age 7 and above will participate in preseason player evaluations (PED), the results placing them into one of our 4 divisions:

  • Rookie (ages 5-7)
  • Minor B (ages 7-9)
  • Minor A (ages 8-11)
  • Majors (ages 10-12)

These age ranges overlap so that our coaches are able to place each player into the level of play that is most appropriate for their skill level, which in turn enables that player's continued development, enhances player safety and aids in maintaining competitive balance within each league. The age ranges are also guidelines, not hard rules, so there are occasional exceptions. For example, a 12yo who is completely new to organized baseball would most likely be placed in Minor A instead of Majors. More details regarding each level of play, including rough practice/game schedules, are available here.

Volunteer Requirements

Please note that there is a volunteer requirement for parents of players registered to participate in Golden Valley Little League. The requirement includes 10 volunteer hours for families with one child in the league and 15 hours for families with more than one child in the league. Please see the volunteer page on the Golden Valley Little League website for more information. There is an option to buy out of your volunteer requirement for $300 during registration.

Attendance Boundaries

There are several questions on the registration form asking for various forms of proof of residence or school attendance. These are placed onto the registration form by the Little League national registration system and are not removable by GVLL. These do not need to be completed. You do not need to upload your driver's license or any other potentially sensitive information. If your player does not attend school at one of the eight options given during registration, select 'other/none of the above'. Your registration will go through without any of this information. For those living outside the defined league boundary, you may see a popup message advising you that your player may not be eligible to play with GVLL. This is most likely not true as long as your player is attending school in Golden Valley. Player eligibility will be handled on a case-by-case basis as necessary post-registration.
